Working outside of my comfort zone has been incredible and I believe the iridescence in this jewel like painting is simply exquisite.
I used over 120 different colours and many more hours to produce Pluming Marvellous, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
A Wing and a Prayer
This piece was meant to create a feeling of the larger pheasant overpowering the smaller one and almost praying over him.
There is also an element of fear and anticipation in this painting as if it’s not obvious what the outcome will be.
Lord of the Wings
Lord of the Wings was taken from an incredible photograph which I was lucky enough to have permission to recreate in my style.
There are over 80 different Colours in this powerful piece and it is one of the largest originals I have created.
Thistle Do Nicely
Goldfinch are possibly one of our prettiest native garden birds. Their flash of yellow in their wings and their little red faces make them easy to spot and are one of the most welcome visitors to our gardens.
Bob
Bob is just bobbing along amongst the most sublime cherry blossom. This piece is full of mischief and prettiness and is a new style for me.
I wanted to start adding flora and forna to my original paintings to capture more of our British garden life and making my pieces slightly softer.
Airs & Graces
This piece consumed me from start to finish. As soon as I saw the photograph I knew I had to capture the beauty and grace of these two incredible birds.
The intensity of the blues against the sharp contrast of that iridescent orange makes this painting literally jump off the paper.

Bill the curlew: we love Curlews over at HQ, and they are one of the many birds we protect at Walmsgate.
Turf War
This dramatic and elegant painting depicts the drama and emotion which takes place every Spring amongst Cock Pheasants all over the country.
I have tried to capture the raw intensity which the pheasants feel and the overpowering need to win the supreme position in the territory.

Watching Over Me
Robins are one of our most loved native birds, in fact I don’t know anyone who doesn’t smile when they see these friendly little chaps bobbing around the garden or singing their hearts out in the tree tops.
Soul Mates
Each and every year we wait in anticipation around the middle to end of March for these incredible birds to return from their epic adventures. It always astounds me how these tiny creatures manage such an expedition.
I found painting this peace bitter sweet, but I’m so pleased I took the plunge as it has a beauty and power that touched my soul and I hope it touches yours too.
Pete the Lapwing
I watch lapwing arrive here every year, rear young and then leave us again. It’s simply magical. I have loved these wonderful Little birds since I was a little girl as they gracefully duck and dove calling out with their piercing shrill.
Charlie
Charlie is a totally new style for me this year. I am a great fan of Japanese style paintings and elegant chinoiserie.
Charlie is a flamboyant golden pheasant parading through stunning lotus flower, cherry blossom and magnolia.
Wesley
One of my all time favourite little birds the Snipe is simply incredible. Here I depicted this elusive and enigmatic little chap sat on an old log watching the world go by. Snipe are known for their distinctive winnowing call and I have spent many an hour watching them whilst on the Scottish riverbanks.
Jack
Hare are a personal favourite of mine, bordering on obsession as they are so mysterious, magical and just beautiful in every way.
Catch & Release
As you know I am passionate about salmon fishing and have been asked for a long time to paint this iconic beauty. To be honest I’ve shied away as they are very tricky to paint perfectly. But I’m so pleased I did. I loved every minute of creating this shimmering piece.

Gorgeous George
Caught here parading around in the sun, George is a very handsome boy. I have used as much detail as possible and a huge spectrum of colours on this piece to create a very dynamic, yet serene painting.
George has proved very popular since I finished him and it’s a refreshing change form my powerful fighting pieces. It’s rare that I create a solitary bird but I think it was how he should be.
Leap Of Faith
Capturing these two powerful birds was amazing as I wanted to try and inject as much intensity as possible.
I used many layers of colour to create an irreverent feel to them both which in turn creates movement. The result is spectacular, making “Leap of Faith” one of my most popular prints in my portfolio.
Thy Will Be Done
The Lapwing is a very special bird to my husband and I, and we used to watch them on the farm together and always looked for them when we were on our travels. It just felt the right thing to do once it was finished to honour his life forever within my painting.
Perfect Harmony
Oystercatchers are one of my favourite little birds that we have here in Britain. When I go fishing they are like a welcoming committee as we cross over the river. Everything about them is just amazing.
Their call in particular makes me happy from the inside out.
Spur Crazy
Spur Crazy, brilliantly named by my husband is officially the largest painting I have ever created. This gigantic piece has been created during the COVID-19 lockdown, hence its very poignant, yet perfect title.
