Spiritual Awakening

It’s like I have entered a magical and mystical world of nature and beauty.

Spiritual Awakening stirred up something deep in my soul during its creation. This piece has a totally new style and feeling from my other creations and I believe it represents how I am embarking on a new journey both personally and professionally.

Thy Will Be Done

Thy Will Be Done represents my darling husband Will.

I’ve dedicated this poignant and sentimental piece to him as his lasting legacy. The Lapwing is a very special bird to both of us and we used to watch them on the farm together and always looked for them when we were on our travels. It just felt the right thing to do once it was finished to honour his life forever within my painting:

Watching Over Me

Robins are one of our most loved native birds, in fact I don’t know anyone who doesn’t smile when they see these friendly little chaps bobbing around the garden or singing their hearts out in the tree tops.

After recent events in my own life, I decided to honour them in this poignant and heartfelt piece. Many of us believe the Robins represent spirits of our loved ones who have passed, and this couple have a poise that makes me feel that one is looking after the other. I have even added my trademark floating feather to represent angels watching over us. I poured my heart and soul into this piece and felt connected to my darling Will while I was creating it:

Soul Mates

Each and every year we wait in anticipation around the middle, to end of March for these incredible birds to return from their epic adventures. It always astounds me how these tiny creatures manage such an expedition. Sadly in recent years there has been a huge decline due to many factors and it’s heartbreaking. Swallows make the most beautiful sound as they soar and swoop and I’m constantly in awe of their beauty.

I found painting this peace bitter sweet but I’m so pleased I took the plunge as it has a beauty and power that touched my soul and I hope it touches yours too.

Lady In Waiting

Kingfishers are fast becoming a firm favourite for me to paint and have been a roaring success with my customers. This beautiful lady is hovering, waiting to pounce on her prey and have her supper. The colours are not only bright but show the magnificent iridescence that only the Kingfisher has.
